The mufflers don't look N1 style. Was the sound really that bad? I've seen a ton of videos of that Lexus V8 sound great with an open exhaust so I'm surprised.

you would be surprised, I have an equally large kakimoto exhaust on my Skyline GTS-T and there’s no drone at all in fact it’s not even loud.

Probably because I have a resonator.
